Top-10 finish in Rock Gault Memorial opener at Cherokee

Earl Pearson Jr. visited Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Friday afternoon for the two-day Rock Gault Memorial. Drawing 43 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries for a pair of preliminary features, Earl came in seventh in his heat, which positioned him 13th on the starting grid for the $5,000-to-win A-Main. Breaking into the Top-10, Pearson Jr. clawed forward three spots in the 25-lapper to finish 10th.

Persistent rain overnight postponed Saturday’s $40,000-to-win finale to a later date to be named.
