EPJ follows Lucas Oil on eastern swing

On Saturday afternoon Earl Pearson Jr. was one of 42 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Md.) for the Red Nininger Tribute. Following a seventh-place finish in his heat, Earl logged a fifth-place finish in his B-Main, forcing him to rely on a provisional into the opening night feature. With $15,000 on the line, Pearson Jr. gained five spots to place 20th.

For the River Valley 40 on Sunday at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.), Pearson Jr. placed sixth in his heat before grabbing the third-and-final transfer spot in his B-Main. Starting the $10,000-to-win A-Main in 21st, Earl passed three cars in the 40-lapper to register an 18th-place outing.

Earl is currently 13th in the latest Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings.
