Pearson celebrates Fourth of July with LOLMDS

On Friday afternoon Earl Pearson Jr. was one of 25 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on hand at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) to kick off the Fourth of July weekend with the Independence 50. In a field of 25 cars, Earl jumped up three spots in his heat race to finish fifth. Starting the $12,000-to-win A-Main in 14th, Pearson Jr. was an early retiree from the 50-lapper on lap 30. For the Prime Solutions 50 on Saturday evening at Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio), Pearson Jr. followed up the fourth fastest time in his group with a runner-up finish in his heat, which came behind Kyle Bronson. With $15,000 on the line in the feature, Earl faded eight spots to finish 15th.

Earl remains in 11th in the latest Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings.
