With 42 Late Models entered for the third annual One for the Road, Alberson recorded a sixth-place finish in his heat, relegating him into the B-Main for another shot at the $22,022-to-win A-Main. Needing to place second or better, Garrett recorded a fourth-place outing.
Joining the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Thursday, Garrett trekked to Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) for the 18th annual Knoxville Nationals. Following a fifth-place finish in his heat, Alberson streaked to a 15-lap consolation victory. Working forward seven spots in the 25-lap preliminary feature, Garrett crossed the line in 13th.
For another $7,000-to-win prelim on Friday, Alberson secured his spot into the 25-lapper with a runner-up performance in his B-Main after finishing seventh in his heat. Starting in 19th, Garrett passed five cars to finish 15th.
Earning the 21st-starting position for Sunday’s rain-delayed $50,000-to-win Knoxville Nationals finale via passing points from Thursday and Friday’s prelims, Garrett marched through the field 10 spots in the 50-lap affair to register an 11th-place finish.
Garrett is currently seventh in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
